Emma’s bungalow in Wantage, Oxfordshire has a long narrow driveway, opening out into a wide bellmouth parking area in front of the house that’s perfect for parking plenty of vehicles, including her motorhome.
When you have heavy vehicles continually using a driveway, you traditionally get problems with sagging and movement – especially with long gravel drives.
That’s why – as with most jobs – the preparation is so important. We took a lot of care getting the base right, using our exclusive, permeable StrongBase foundation system for the entire area, and the amazing GravelGrip system, which gives you all the benefits of gravel without any of the slippage.
Once the foundation was in, we laid railway sleeper edging for a flower bed all along the fence and planted six trees on the right hand side of the driveway. The parking area was laid using autumn-coloured Bradstone driveway blocks. We also laid blocks down the side of the house continuing on from the parking area.
