Non-slip Gravel Driveway & Paths, Wallingford
This elegant, classic period home was worthy of an impressive driveway that would enhance its historical roots.
Our client, Malcom chose a 20mm washed gravel: a natural stone that is permeable, low maintenance and which ages beautifully. Combined with the GravelGrip system, a honeycomb support structure with a weed-suppressing membrane, the loose stones are kept firmly in place.
The gravel paired especially well with the rumbled blocks at the bell-mouth of each drive, which in turn provided an attractive dividing line from the practical tarmac areas leading from the road.
The charcoal kerbs create a physical barrier between the lawn, borders and the stone driveways, both protecting and preventing any undesired grass and weeds.
The house is not symmetrical in its footprint but the renovation of the walkway and both drives brought balance and timeless appeal.
