A garden room was originally designed as a dedicated social hub for the family, featuring a compact kitchen, bar area, comfortable seating, and a full-size pool table as its focal point. The space quickly became the centre for entertaining and relaxing, bringing together leisure and everyday family life in one versatile setting.

Once the garden room was built, it became clear that the original plans lacked a strong connection between the building and the wider garden—and more importantly, back to the main house.

To resolve this, a large porcelain patio was introduced as a considered late addition. Extending directly from the garden room, it creates a clean and immediate indoor-outdoor link, effectively expanding the usable entertaining space. Porcelain was chosen for its durability, low maintenance, and resistance to weathering, making it ideal for year-round social use.

A matching pathway was also added to link the patio back to the garden room as well as a path leading from the back of the garden to the front of the house, completing a clear circulation route through the garden. This helped unify the overall layout, connecting each space into a cohesive whole and creating a natural flow that supports easy movement and effortless entertaining.
