Chris and his wife previously worked with New Driveway Company on a patio refurbishment, so when they decided to address a long-standing parking challenge at the front of their home, they were confident in returning to us for a solution.

Before the project, the property had no dedicated parking at all just a lawned front garden. In an area of Oxford where on-street parking is restricted to permit holders, this created daily inconvenience, with vehicles needing to be parked on the road and groceries and belongings carried back to the house. The couple were looking for a practical, long-term solution that would also enhance the appearance and value of their property.

To unlock the potential of the space, our New Driveway Company Planning Consultant prepared the dropped kerb. This crucial step allowed the transformation of the former garden into a usable and safe parking space.

The new Driveway Company Operations team cleared the existing front garden area, removing the lawn and preparing the ground for a new driveway installation. With the space fully opened up, we created a high-quality block paved driveway in an Autumn colour, finished with contrasting charcoal. An Aco channel drain was also incorporated to ensure effective surface water management.

The transformation has completely changed the way the property is used. What was once an unused front lawn is now premium off-street parking in a highly restricted permit-only area of Oxford, offering both convenience and added property value.
